Fat Quarter Style, Giveaways, and More Quilty Fun

Today I want to share insights on a new quilting book, giveaways, as well as quilt market and quilt festival that will be kicking off quite soon. But first, let me share insights about a new quilting book that I truly lov:

The It's Sew Emma team introduced their second book "Fat Quarter Style: 12 quilts that never go out of style".  This new quilting book is filled with refreshing designs that are perfect for Fat Quarter bundles.  It was introduced this year and now appearing in many quilt shops.  But, for those attending IQF Quilt Festival/Houston, next week, you can also pick up a signed copy of this book, as well as other books from It's Sew Emma!

There are 12 fun designs included in Fat Quarter Style and each design includes instructions to make in a variety of sizes (e.g. Crib, Lap, Twin, Queen).

You'll find fabric requirements, cutting and piecing instructions for each design, as well as a section for preparing your backing, binding your quilt, and labeling your quilt. And, for those that may not be familiar with fat quarters, there is a section for "What is a Fat Quarter?" as well as a section where many excellent tips are shared on "Techniques Used in Fat Quarter Style".

And the photos of the quilts,in this book,  are inspirational!  But I've also enjoyed seeing quilts made from this book, when quilters share such photos on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Blogs, etc..  Always lovely quilts.

You can find Fat Quarter Style at the Fat Quarter Shop,  Amazon, and many quilt shops.  But don't forget if you don't find it in your favorite quilt shop you can also let them know you'd like them to carry it and they can place a wholesale order with the Fat Quarter Shop.

Quilt Market - starts October 24th
Kimberly Jolly and the Fat Quarter Shop will be at Quilt Market and they are the best reporters at Market ever.  You can follow them real time on Twitter and/or Instagram and have great fun learning about new products introduced at market! They'll also be sharing insights on Facebook, plus daily recaps on their blog (Jolly Jabber) with many giveaways for Quilt Market Swag and more.
Quilt Festival - starts November lst
The Fat Quarter Shop and the  It's Sew Emma Teams will be at Quilt Festival signing books.  Great opportunity to pick up a copy of these quilting books, meet Kimberly and have her personally sign your copy!

Did I Mention A Giveaway?

The Fat Quarter Shop is sponsoring this giveaway for followers of SewCalGal where one lucky winner will receive a copy of Fat Quarter Styl.  I will be shipping this prize to a lucky winner, any place in the world.  Please use the rafflecopter form to enter and you'll find that besides leaving a comment on this blog post, there are also ways to get extra entries.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The winner will be randomly selected using the Rafflecopter random number selector.  I will send them an email notification and they'll have three days to respond to confirm they want to claim their prize, or another winner will be selected.  This post will also be updated to announce the lucky winner.

Don't forget to follow the Jolly Jabber blog for daily recaps during quilt market, plus some amazing giveaways.

Full Disclosure:  I was given a copy of this book to review, with the understanding that I'd share my honest opinion, which I have done so.  If I didn't feel the way I do about this book, I simply wouldn't have taken time to share it with you today.  This is truly a fun quilting book, and an exceptional value.

What a great book! I have not made any of Sew Emma's patterns I like fat quarters they are very versatile. Have a great time at market.

Brenda said...

I tend not to buy pattern books, as I prefer drafting my own. But one thing I do like about this book is that it includes information on how to size the quilt to your desires. So often that's not the case with patterns and books, and I do as much work resizing as I would have if I'd drafted the pattern in the first place. I've never made an It's So Emma pattern, but will be more likely to make kid clothes than quilts. I do love the FQS and am on my fourth Designers' Mystery BOM.
