Today I'm excited to be able to share insights with you about another book written by Donna Lynn Thomas, which has been published by Martingale. Possibly you know Donna Lynn from three other books which she has previously written and they were also published by Martingale?
Donna Lynn's newest book "On-Point Patchwork Fuss-Free Diagonals using the Omnigrid On-Point Ruler", also published by Martingale helps quilters create spectacular quilts using a new Omnigrid "on-point" ruler designed by Donna Lynn.
There are 14 lovely projects in this book for quilters of all levels.
The designs use an Omnigrid On-Point ruler designed by Donna to allow you to rotary cut squares, rectangles, and triangles that measure evenly across the diagonal for on-point patchwork units. And there is a section that shares insights on how to use this ruler, which also includes great visuals.
Projects range in size from 17 1/2" x 57 1/2" to 92 1/2" x 92 1/2". And every design has easy to follow instructions, with great visuals.
While every design comes with supply requirements, which let you know how much yardage you may need. SewCalGal believes this will be an excellent book for those looking for project ideas to use up fabrics in your stash, as well as those that may want to purchase new coordinated fabrics from your favorite quilt shop.
And, of course, while Donna Lynn does a great job showing off these new designs using a variety of color palettes, SewCalGal believes that each of the designs in this book would look great in a number of color combinations. To clarify, they are very flexible designs.
While quilts with blocks on rows are beautiful, there is something special about blocks set on point. And, this book is perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to create such a quilt, as well as those that have experience with quilts where blocks are set on point, but are intrigued with the designs in this book.
With 14 appealing designs in this book, SewCalGal thinks it is a great value for quilters of all levels that want to make stunning quilts.
SewCalGal hopes you have a chance to check out this new book at your local quilt shop, or on-line at Martingale.
