New Book Release: Pincushion Appeal by Cecile McPeak and Rachel Martin of Just Another Button Company

Pincushions come in all sorts of sizes and shapes and make for an excellent gift to quilty friends. They have also become a popular design to make. Needless to say, I was delighted to learn of a new book that will be released in December, from Martingale and want to share insights with you about it today.

This new book will officially be released December 3rd.  SewCalGal believes many of the projects in this book could be made in time for Christmas gifts, but would also make for great gifts any time of the year, as well as for decorating your home and actual use in your sewing room too!

All the projects have cute names (Nesting Bird, Measuring Mushroom, Mr. and Mrs. Spoolkeep, Succulent Garden, Splash, Snow Globe, Santa and Romance) and come with easy to follow instructions, as well as great visuals, making this an excellent book for anyone new to sewing or even the experienced sewing enthusiast!

There are also good visuals for hand stitching (Ladder stitch, overcast stitch, whipstitch, blanket stitch, french knot, running stitch, satin stitch, and stem stitch).  Plus, there are a variety of embellishment techniques shared in this book from using buttons, felted wool, embroidery floss, yarn and other craft materials.

Those are fun cushions. I used to see spools all over the place, consignments couldn't get rid of them, now they are a fortune, since everyone wants one, lol.

I have been working on my elf, to finish tonight, but decided I have the giveaway to go up and will hold up on it till monday so it gets a day to itself. On my fourth load of laundry and still have to clean the house, so time to get that out of the way so I can relax and stitch tonight.
