I was absolutely delighted to attend "Napping Is Necessary" and it far exceeded any expectations I may have created in my mind. This is an extremely reasonable priced webinar, which also comes with a very economical and optional workbook. SewCalGal highly recommends the webinar and workbook for anyone, especially want-to-be fabric designers, designers in general, store owners or those pondering on their dream or struggling with achieving their goals.
The webinar is approximately one hour and packed full of inspiration and tools that can help you better identify your goals. AND, it will provide you many tools to help you increase the odds of you achieving your goals!
Amanda became a Fabric Designer in Spring 2009 for Riley Blake Designs. During the Webinar she shares insights on how she became a designer, how she plans and organizes her life to be able to create multiple lines of fabrics each year, while balancing worklife and rejuvenating her creativity. She has worked with Lyn Christian, founder of SoulSalt, Inc. who is also Amanda's personal Life Coach.
Lyn previously worked for Franklin Covey, before founding SoulSalt, Inc, an Academy for those that want to become Personal Coaches. Lyn shared a personal story of being a non-swimmer that not only learned to swim, but became a Gold Medal Winner!
The webinar begins with sharing insights on how taking naps can help your creative process, different type of naps, as well as other ways to rejuvenate your creative process. There is also a valid emphasis that you need a vision of where you want to go, so you don't get lost along the process. For Amanda, she shared that sometimes it is the naming of a line of fabric that gives her focus.
The power of this webinar is all sorts of encouragement and tools for how you can take that webinar and increase your chances of making it happen. Statistics are also shared on how certain steps (shared in this webinar) will give you a 25-90% chance of reaching your goal. Obviously, completing all the steps provided in this webinar will greatly increase your chances of reaching your goal. And, again, there are many tools that are provided to help you along the way.
While this webinar was clearly not an effort for either Lyn nor Amanda to sell their services, Amanda did mention a special retreat that sounds like an amazing opportunity for those in the crafting/design industry to help them grow their skills (and their business). "Find Your Lula" is a retreat where you'll learn lots of valuable skills like Adobe Illustrator, photography, life and business coaching, as well as have lots of fun sewing, crafting and creating. And, Lyn will be one of three instructors at this retreat. The dates for this retreat is September 24th - 28th.
SewCalGal highly recommends the "Napping Is Necessary" webinar and workbook. The cost is cheaper than going out to a movie and I'm confident you'll find more value in watching this webinar. No, I'm not paid to write this. You can even ask Amanda. She actually offered to pay me and I turned it down. This is a great webinar and I want to share my honest feedback.
How much do you think this type of webinar and workbook should cost? $25, $50, $100, $500 ? It is so good and so reasonably priced, I'm honestly recommending it to a major electronics company to negotiate a company rate to be able to have their 300,000+ employees watch it. Yes, it is that good! And, that reasonably priced. So, I can truly recommend it to you!
The webinar is only $9.99 and for $2.00 more you get a very handy workbook. This workbook is very helpful to have printed off and ready to use as you attend the webinar, as well as to use to review afterwards. So, consider signing up for the Webinar and book for only $11.99.

Hmm. I took the Franklin Covey Class while I was in the Navy. Right now I am a stay at home mom with a dream of having her own Quilt/ Embroidery shop one day. I will definately look into this.
Excellent review and I'm definitely going to attend and get a workbook. My life could certainly use a creative "nap" and some support along the way.
You do such wonderful reviews! What a treasure your blog is to the rest of us in the needle and thread community.
Smiles,
Kelly
