My Favorite Tutorials: How to Make A Quilters Table

IKEA Hackers (the IKEA blog) has an excellent tutorial to make a Quilters Table, with plenty of storage, that stands on casters, allowing it be easily moved around a large sewing room or classroom.  I had to add this to my list of favorite tutorials and am delighted share it with you today.

Quilters Table

Visit the IKEA Hackers blog to see their tutorial to make this Quilters Table.

Don't forget you can see more of my favorite tutorials indexed on a page of my blog labeled "My Favorite Tutorials".  I'm still updating this index.  In the meantime, you can also search my blog for "My Favorite Tutorials" for a complete list.  But, I'm hoping to get this index fully updated soon!

This table would take up my entire sewing room aka shoe box! Sigh......

Oh, I'm loving that table! I don't have room in my present sewing area but am converting another room to add some space. This could be an option! Thanks for the tips!

Man, this is a "serious" sewing island which would require a "serious" sewing room. LOL

I can totally see Bailey trying to get inside the center area and then getting stuck, LOL.

Hmmm.....this would give me the perfect excuse to turn my family room downstairs into my sewing room! My current sewing room would not be big enough to fit the sewing table in, so I would have to have a bigger sewing room, obviously (rolls eyes).

I have saved this very table into my favorites. My only concern is the wide base. I would be afraid of hitting my shins on it. Has anyone put this together and how do you like it?

It looks like the perfect table to me. All it needs is a place to stash the chocolate.

I made an easy Big Board ironing station out of one of these bookcases. Tun it on its side as you did. Top it with a piece of 3/4" plywood that is completely wrapped in cotton batting and then completely wrapped in 100% cotton fabric. I hand seamed it along the 3/4" edge. Place the plywood on top of the bookcase. The plywood is navy enough that it doesn't slide around much. When one side gets dirt just flip it over. Then recover as needed. I use to bookcase to hold IKEA bins 12" by 12" to hold quilting projects.
