MY REVIEW:
There is something special about a handmade gift and Trish has not only created a book with fun projects to make for gifts, she also does an excellent job capturing the spiriting of making handmade and giving handmade gifts.  Thus, I'm truly hoping that EVERY person that enjoys making handmade gifts will get a copy of this book, but also I believe this book is filled with so many fun projects, that have easy to follow instructions, it would also make an excellent gift to encourage others to make handmade gifts.

Of course, many of the projects are items you'll want to make for yourself, but they are all perfect for gifts.  And many of these projects would also be appropriate for teaching kids to sew and give handmade items for gifts.

All of the projects come with well written instructions and create visuals.  A few of the projects have templates which are included in the book.

Did I Mention A Giveaway?
Trish and C+T Publishing have offered to giveaway an e:copy of Because I Love You Sew, to one lucky follower.  This giveaway is open to followers from all over the world.  To enter, simply leave a comment on this post.  Maybe you'll want to share an idea for your favorite handmade project to give as a gift, or a recommendation for handmade gifts appropriate for certain age groups.  A winner will be randomly selected on December 19th.  SewCalGal will send them an email to notify them, as well as update this post to announce the winner.

I like to make potholders as quick easy gifts. It is also a great excuse to practice my free motion quilting.

Thanks for the chance to win that great book! I like to make pincushions for gifts. I made some wool acorn pincushions, stuffed them with walnut shells and put a real top from an acorn on top.

Homemade gifts are just so much better--to give and receive. My favourite I ever received was a beautiful wooden sewing box, in the shape of a heart, woodburned with a bunny and flowers, that my (artist) son made me.

Looks like a cute book. I love to give something I made, instead of something I bought.

I like to give lap quilts as gifts. But this year I have sewn up a slew of pillow cases to give to family and friends.

Sounds like an awesome book and the projects look amazing. I like to give tablerunners or zippered pouches as gifts. Both are usually fairly quick to make.

Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

I think that handmade gifts are more appreciated than anything else. When my mother dies, I found several cards and little gifts I had made for her as a child.

Since I've been making mug rugs for this year's gifts, I look forward to getting new ideas for next year. This book should do it for me. -- soparkaveataoldotcom

I love giving hand-made gifts like mug rugs, zippered pouches, and mini quilts. Like most sewists, I put a lot of love and warm thoughts into my projects and that is portrayed in the final gift.

I think handmade gifts "last longer" because they have a special meaning. I made hand warmers for my colleagues last Christmas and they were very appreciated.
