Stitch 'n Swap

Stitch 'n Swap: 25 handmade projects to Sew, Give, and Receive is a new book from Generation Q Magazine, compiled by Jake Finch, and published by Stash Books, an imprint by C and T Publishing.

Stitch 'n Swap

The 25 handmade projects to sew, Give and receive include items such as: Kaleidoscope pincushion (as shown on the cover).

A sewing kit project that would make for an excellent gift, as well as a fun challenge  or swap for any quilting group.

An inspirational project for a sewing machine cover where instructions are provided to help you make a cover for just about any size of machine, as well as adapt this design to make it your own.

Hot drink pouches that would make amazing handmade gifts, which you could fill with packages of various hot drinks, to give as a special gift, or to use when you travel.

The French Press cover is a fun design that would certainly make for wonderful gifts, but I'm sure you'll want to make one to use in your home.

Likewise the Tea Cozy and Mat would make for a fun gift, as well as for use in your home.

Modern Broken Dishes Table Set is also a super fun project to make excellent gifts, as well as for use in decorating your home.

Heartbreak Couch Scarf is one of my favorite projects in this book, as this design helps to create a modern quilt project to drape over your couch (aka Couch Scarf).  Definitely a perfect decorating item.

There are many more designs in this book, each with instructions to help you create the project and make it your own.  All perfect for gifts, as well as for decorating your home.

And there is a section for "Advice for a successful swap", which could be quite helpful for a quilting guild, quilt store, bloggers and quilters in general!  SewCalGal thinks this is a great resource and will also help make wonderful gifts, making it an inspirational book for those looking to make gifts to enter the Make It A Handmade Christmas Challenge.

This book will officially be released May 19th, 2014, but you can also pre-order it now from C&T Publishing.

Thanks for telling us about this book. I am going to get one. I really like the couch scarf! That's just what I need to help cover the ugly upholstery my husband chose for the family room. He doesn't even like it now.

uhhh I think I "need" this book :) as you know I haven't come up with small gift ideas, unless I make 12 things for my mom. haha....
