Looking For Fun and Fast Project Ideas? Checkout the New Free Charm Pack Cherry Quilt Pattern

Maybe you are looking for project ideas for fun and fast projects to make for Christmas gifts, that you can enter in the Make It A Handmade Christmas Challenge.  Or maybe you just want a fun and fast project to make a springtime quilt.  Well, today I'm excited to share insights with you on a new Charm Pack Quilt Pattern that is free from the Fat Quarter Shop.

Before I share info on this new free pattern, I do want to clarify that the Make It A Handmade Christmas Challenge is all about making handmade items throughout the year for holiday gifts or decorating your home.  You need not participate in every monthly challenge, but the more challenges you enter the more chances you have to win prizes.  And, the Fat Quarter Shop is a sponsor and has donated a $50 gift certificate to one lucky winner!  You can make any handmade project in 2014, for a Christmas gift, and enter it in any of the monthly challenges that are open to enter between the 15th and 25th of each month.  For more info on this challenge, along with a full list of sponsors and prizes, click the image below:

I'm excited about this new free quilt pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop.   "Charm Pack Cherry Quilt" is a downloadable pattern that uses four charm packs to make a lovely quilt that finishes at 52 1/2" x 54 1/2". And, to celebrate the Fat Quarter Shop has a 20% off sale on ALL of their Charm Packs!  Yeah.

In addition to getting the free pattern to make this cute quilt, Kimberly and the Fat Quarter Shop team created an excellent youtube video to show you how to make it.  SewCalGal is confident this is going to be a popular quilt pattern.

This quilt would certainly make for a great gift as well as for use around your home.  It would look great in just about any fabrics, as well as holiday fabrics.  Hence, my idea of making this pattern for a Christmas gift!    Great idea!

They have a large selection of charm packs, but I had my eye out for Spring colors and I thought I'd show a few that caught my attention.

And, I also spotted many gorgeous holiday theme charm packs that will be shipping late Spring.

The April Showers Charm Pack really caught my eye...looks vintage-ish.

The pattern is great for holiday quilts and looks fairly simple to put together, perfect when you want to finish gifts and you have a lot to do.

You are always on the top of your game SewCalGal...keep reporting to us all the great stuff going on in this quilty world.

Smiles,
K

For beaquilter and lots of other folks who have small families: think about the folks in your local nursing homes. This pattern is a good size for a lap quilt for those residents, especially since older folks are often chilly, their bodies have more difficulty with temperature regulation. Or kids (and others) in hospitals, missions and homeless shelters, and so on. Lots of potential quilt gift recipients in the world. Or, make one and pass it on to a stranger, along the lines of doing anonymous good deeds and hoping they'll be passed on. Even a little cheery wallhanging for the frazzled mom in the grocery store could make her day/week and set a wonderful example for her kids. Boy my brainstorming is getting me excited about doing some of these things myself!
