Glimpses of New Hoffman Fabrics for 2014 Fall-Winter

This past December, SewCalGal had an opportunity to visit Hoffman California Fabrics to check out their 2014 Fall-Winter collections.  But I was sworn to secrecy to not share insights until such time that their regional sales representatives  had all the information.  Needless to say, I'm delighted to be able to share sneak peaks on these new beautiful fabric collections.  While your local quilt shops and favorite online shops are now able to place orders for these fabrics, this is a great opportunity for you to let your favorite shops know what Hoffman fabrics you'd like them to order and offer for sale in their store!

The new Bali Snowflakes are brilliant. Of course, SewCalGal thinks this Burgundy snowflake would make a spectacular quilt for the Year of Red/White Quilt Challenges, or even for the Make It A Handmade Christmas Challenge!     But don't forget, when Hoffman creates a beautiful fabric print they always offer it in a variety of colors, so if Burgundy isn't your color there are plenty more snowflakes to choose from in other colors too!

Hoffman also has a new Fall/Winter release of pops, hand dyed fabrics, screen prints, panels and more.

So many gorgeous new fabrics for making Christmas projects this year, all perfect for the Make It Handmade Challenge too!  Or make something with these fabrics just because you want to.

Skinny Stripes is a fun line of fabric that makes for great blenders and borders.  Of course SewCalGal thinks "Peppermint" would make for an excellent fabric for use in making a Red and White Quilt as well as for making a gift or decoration for your home in the Make It A Handmade Christmas Challenge.  Very beautiful and versatile fabrics.

I also spotted many beautiful fabrics that would be fun for the Year of Red and White Quilt Challenges, many of which would also work well for the Handmade Christmas Challenge too!  Shame my little digital camera doesn't do a better job taking pictures of "reds", but I hope you agree these are still beautiful fabrics.

Jamie Fingal's line of "Home is where your story begins" is a versatile line that looks like fun to create beautiful wallhangings, table toppers, mixed media arts, quilts and more.  This line was introduced during Fall Quilt Market 2013.

SewCalGal also fell in love with this lovely  beachy print in soft blues and sand colors.

The 2014 Fall-Winter Catalog for Hoffman California Fabrics is now available online.  Quilters from all over the world are invited to view this catalog and encouraged to let their favorite quilt and fabric shops know what fabrics you'd like them to order.  Seriously, think of yourself as a "buyer for a day" and let your favorite shops know what new Hoffman fabrics you'd like them to order.

We should start seeing these fabrics available for retail purchase in the April/May timeframe.

Their fabric is beautiful. Their batiks look nice, but also they have a nice finish that feels nice and is a pleasure to work with.

I love Jamie Fingal's designs, really fun to have art quilters doing prints, fun idea for camper decor too.

Ooh, I love that snowflake fabric in red, white and gray! I can see that going traditional or modern in different quilters' hands. I also love the peacock blues and greens in the batik photos. You are so lucky to have gotten a sneaky-peaky!
