The Big Book of Nickel Quilts - 40 Projects for 5-inch Scraps

Nickel Quilts is a term used to refer to quilts that can be made with 5" squares of fabric that may come from scraps in your stash, fabric swaps, or from charm squares or layer cakes.  Nickel Quilts was actually first published over a decade ago and the follow up best seller, More Nickel Quilts, came soon afterwards.   Now, Martingale has combined all of these wonderful quilts into one volume!

"The Big Book of Nickel Quilts - 40 Projects for 5-inch Scraps", by Pat Speth with Charlene Thode, published by Martingale, is an amazing quilting book packed with 40 Projects, but this book has 40 "spectacular" projects and can all be made with 5-inch scraps (or 5" charms, or 10" layer cakes).  And the forty quilt designs in this book are truly timeless, where many will want to make projects from this book for years to come.

Projects in this book are rated by skill level (beginner, easy, or intermediate), based on the degree of piecing difficulty.  All have easy to follow instructions with great visuals.

Many of the designs in this book could be done in a variety of sizes (e.g. table runners, wallhangings, full size quilts, etc.), but the sizes shared in this book range from: 51" x 51" to 92 1/2" x 108 1/2"

And insights are shared on how you can make these designs in a variety of sizes too (e.g.  lap, twin or queen size quilt, as well as using alternative square sizes such as a 4" or 6" square.

These designs would all look great as a scrappy quilt made from fabrics in your stash, or from a swap of charms or by way of purchased of pre-cuts (e.g. charms or layer cakes).

SewCalGal hopes you get a chance to check out this book at your local quilt shop, or favorite online shop soon.  You can also find this book online at Martingale, where you can also purchase an e:book copy or a printed copy AND ebook too!
