Book Review: Square-agonals: 12 Easy Pieces and a Giveaway

Square-agonals: 12 Easy Pieces, by Sandi Blackwell, published by Laundauer Publishing, shares insights on 12 unique blocks using her Square-agonals technique.

Step-by-Step instructions are provided to use Sandi's technique to make 12 blocks used to make the "Tropical Jewels Quilt", as shown on the cover of this book, or a table topper or wallhanging.

Square-agonals12EasyPieces-Wallhanging

Square-agonals12EasyPieces-TableRunner

The Square-agonals technique is a simple way to create quilts with a diagonal setting without adding setting and corner triangles, allowing you to make piecing your quilt easier and more creative. Sandy provides great visuals and instructions to help you master this technique that you can apply to other designs too!

SewCalGal recommends this book for confident beginner quilters through advanced quilters that want to create  table runners, wallhangings or a variety of quilt sizes using the 12 blocks shared in this fun book, as well as those interested in learning Sandi's Square-agonals technique.

You can find this book on Amazon and at many quilt shops.

Did I Mention a Giveaway?

Sandi generously offered a "signed" copy of  Square-agonals: 12 Easy Pieces, to a follower of SewCalGal.  If you would like to win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment on this post.  SewCalGal will randomly select one lucky winner and announce next Friday.

One of the reasons that my son's graduation quilt isn't finished is because I need to figure out the setting triangles (no pattern, he just figured out how he wants it, and told me to make it). I love things on point, but, don't always like trying to figure them out. Thanks for the chance to win this book.

Excellent review. I've met Sandi several times and I'm telling you she knows of what she speaks. Her methods work and you can trust that you too can have the same results she does if you follow her instructions. Which by the way, come with several photographs and written instructions that even I can follow. Which says a lot!

Smiles,
Kelly
Please don't put my name in the hat as I already have her wonderful book.
