Quilters from all over the world were invited to recognize those in the quilting business by nominating them for 12 categories of Golden Quilter Awards, as appropriate. Nominations are now closed! Congratulations to all of the nominees as you are recognized by quilters from around the world, for your contributions to the world of quilting. Thank you!

Every year, there are some core categories of the Golden Quilter Awards (e.g. Best Teacher, Best Quilt Store, Best Author, Lifetime Achievement Award, etc) and some new categories. This year, there are twelve categories of awards for those in the business.

While we do not have a Hall of Fame, all of the winners of previous Golden Quilter Awards are recognized on the main page for this event. This main page, which is labeled "Golden Quilter Awards" will also be updated throughout this event to share current links to appropriate posts. SewCalGal encourage everyone to check this page periodically, to keep current on this event. SewCalGal will also send out email reminders to those that have signed up for optional email updates (sign up on the right hand column).

Some great nominees, but the fact that Bonnie Hunter is nominated in so many categories and seems to have the most votes in every category makes this just like last year and the year before.

Awesome to see all these people who have contributed their talents to help make the quilting world what it is today. When my Great-Grandmother Effie made a quilt back in the 1920's she had no idea how quilting would be so popular today & undergone so many changes. Proud to say I am a quilter and passing that on to my niece who I am teaching now. :)

In some categories, voting was really difficult. I would like to see previous winners not be eligible to be nominated again in the category they won in previous years. Just a suggestion, I know how much work it is to put this together.

I only voted in 2 categories to be fair...not enough knowledge to vote in others....I love Kaffe and code him for lifetime ach. And I learned everything I know about quilting from Leah Day. She teaches on a regular machine, not a long arm, which is great fro regular folks like me, she has real issues and real solutions that we can all do and her videos are plain and simple and easy to follow.
