Preparation to Road to California Conference and Showcase

SewCalGal hopes you are able to attend the Road to California Conference and Showcase that starts this week.  If you are able to attend this fun event, here are a few things you may want to take advantage of:

Road to California is hosting their first Video Challenge.  Attendees can create a video telling their story, sharing their perspective on classes, quilt show, vendors, people, etc. Check out their blog for more info: http://tinyurl.com/b7khcsk
video challenge

I'm thinking it would be fun to have some video entries capturing quilty stuff that people wear to Quilt Shows.  Or favorite finds in Vendor Booths. Even interviews with attendees could be fun. Or, amazing quilts.  Oh my, so  many fun ideas.

What would you think would make a fun video story theme for this quilt show?

Quilt in a Day has some coupon specials for those visiting the show and shopping in their booth. Just remember to print these coupons and take them with you to the show.

AccuQuilt dies will also be 25% off during this show.  Plus they have a special buy more save more special that you can find out about when visiting booth #1811.

Join Eleanor Thursday, Jan 24th at 2:00 for a Free Island Batik Fabric Giveaway at RD2CA. Only while supplies last, so don't miss out!

Cozy Quilt Shop will have some spectacular kits, new designs and new books that you'll definitely want to check out.   And, they have a special event where you can win a $50 Cozy gift card if you are spotted at Road with one of their new Cozy 10th Anniversary Tote bags.

Julie Herman (Jaybird Quilts) will have many new books and rulers in her booth.  Plus, pop by Thursday at 2pm to meet Angela Walters at a book signing!

Win a Mini Retreat!
Tin Lizzie is sponsoring a Special Weekend Retreat at Road to California in 2014.  You just might be the winner of a four day stay at the DoubleTree hotel and also 4 Day Classes at Road 2014.  Just fill out the coupon in the Road Show Book and deposit it at the South Information Desk.  The winner does not need to be present when we draw the winning ticket at the end of the show on Sunday.

Hi, I was at Road to California and saw a demonstration of an interesting way to practice free motion quilting. The tool was an erasable pen which was mounted on a frame made of pvc pipe. The design was copied on a piece of paper and a vinyl sheet was placed over the design. By moving the design and the vinyl one is able to train your brain to draw the pattern and practice the motion of quilting before you actually start sewing. I don't remember the name of the product and was hoping you might know. I was told by someone that the same vendor makes a long arm version using the same concept. The vendor was in the annex. If you know the name of the product and or vendor, please reply

Sharon, your settings are what are called no-reply blogger, thus I can not contact you by way of email. Not sure if you'll see this.

Here is a link to the product you are asking about: http://www.cozyquilt.com/Aspx/SearchResults.aspx
