Free-Motion Quilting Challenge - September Winners

My apologies for taking so long to announce the winners of the September FMQ Challenge.  While you don't want to hear my excuses (PC/Network issues, travel, email overload, etc.) it all boils down to where I've dropped quite a few balls and trying to pick them up.  I do appreciate your patience.  I should be able to get the September winners (11?) announced  this week, as well as get caught up on shipping prizes.  With respect to getting caught up on email, with over 1,600 emails I'm hoping that is taken care of sometime in October.

I hope everyone participating in the 2012 Free Motion Quilting Challenge is having fun learning and improving their FMQ skills. For those that may be reading this post and not participating, I want to share that everyone is welcome to join this challenge anytime.  It is all about free-motion quilting on a home/domestic sewing machine.  You'll have a chance to get introduced to a number of FMQ Experts, FMQ designs, FMQ techniques, as well as learning about products appropriate for free-motion quilting.

The September FMQ Challenge, where Paula Reid showed us how to "Fluff and Stuff" a large quilt through a domestic sewing machine and insights on using her favorite stencil design  called "Fancy Feather".

Before I announce the winners of the September Challenge, I want to take time to recognize all of our sponsors:

2012 Free Motion Quilting Challenge

GRAND PRIZE SPONSORS

Dream World

Grand Prizes will be awarded to those that have taken the Pledge to complete all 12 FMQ tutorials. After they complete 12 tutorials (any combination of monthly tutorials and bonus tutorials) anytime in 2012.    More info on how to enter to win a Grand Prize will be shared later this summer.   In te meantime, save photos/links that show you've completed any of these tutorials as it will help you when you enter. And for those of you that are doing the optional FMQ Sampler Quilt, you will simply need to show a photo of your completed sampler quilt created using any 12 tutorials (monthly or bonus) shared during this challenge.  For newbies in this challenge that are not aware of the sampler quilt, visit the post that shared insights on two possible FMQ Sampler Quilt designs to use for this challenge.

SewCalGal is proud to recognize our
MONTHLY PRIZE SPONSORS
for the September  Challenge.

Each month, one lucky winner will receive a special bundle of prizes.  For the September challenge, the winner will receive a bundle that includes:
a sample pack of 5 Aurifil threads

A SewSlip mat
Revolving Sewslip images

A Pair of MACHINGERS Quilting Gloves
by
Quilters Touch LLC

The winner will need to determine the size that is appropriate for them
that shares insight on how to help fit gloves.

SewCalGal is responsible for shipping the prize bundle directly to winners, with the exception that Quilters Touch will be shipping their prize (Machingers gloves and DVD) directly to the respective winner.   As shared previously, this Challenge needs to be about learning/improving our FMQ skills and not about prizes.  As such, my #1 focus will remain on ensuring monthly FMQ tutorials are released on the lst of each month, #2 focus is 3-4 bonus tutorials are released in 2012, and #3 monthly winners are selected and sponsored prizes are shipped.

Paula has also donated ten copies of her DVD "Fluff & Stuff: Machine Quilting with Paula Reid", where ten lucky winners will also be randomly selected to receive their own copy of this DVD.  {Thank you Paula}.

I also want to recognize and thank several Postage Angels who have recently donated to help with postage expenses.  This has helped to cover the shipping cost for prizes for this challenge and the September challenge too!   If you have a chance, I hope you visit their blogs and let them know that you too appreciate their help as Postage Angels for the 2012 FMQ Challenge.  They are wonderful people and have delightful blogs!

Patricia D. (Quilting Babcia)

Ok, time to announce the winners.  The two winners of the September FMQ Challenge were randomly selected based on those that completed the challenge in the month the tutorial was released.   There were 129 entries for this challenge.

The winner of the monthly bundle prize is:

Rosemary (Knitting Quilter)

Congratulations to Rosemary!

The ten winners of Paula's  "Fluff & Stuff: Machine Quilting with Paula Reid" DVD are:

Don't forget that the main page for this event is http://www.sewcalgal.blogspot.com/p/free-motion-quilt-challenge.html and it will be updated throughout this event, to provide a summary of current info and links.

Quilters of all levels can enter this challenge anytime. Take the Pledge by signing up.

I just saw this post and wanted to say, "Thank you!!" I'm thrilled beyond words and also a little shocked! We're in the middle of Hurricane Sandy so I snuck onto the computer before the power/internet goes out! I can't believe I was picked this month! Thank you so much!!

I got so excited that I forgot that it was a DVD rather than a book that I won! DVD's are even better than books because you can see the information in action. What a wonderful surprise! I'm looking forward to it. Thank you Paula! And a big thank you to the quilt angels for helping to make it possible. I never expected to win anything when I've gotten such a wonderful gift in learning these things. Congratulations to the other prize winners too!
