Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative - Auction & Tutorial to make an Art Quilt

The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI)
Raising Awareness & Funding Research Through Art

Ami Simms is the founder of the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Inititiative which has raised over $713k funds for Alzheimers, one quilt at a time.  Each month quilts are placed on Auction, as well as quilts are available for purchase online.  The auction for this month ends on May 10, 2012 at 10 p.m. (22:00 military time) Central Standard Time.

Thank you to Ami and all her volunteers for helping to raise awareness and fund research for Alzheimer's.  I also want to thank Ami for her permission for me to use some photos to share insights with you today, of their current auction.   And, thank you to Ann Scott for creating an inspiration youtube video that shares insights on how you too can create an art quilt and donate for future auctions.

Here are a few of the quilts that are up for auction this month:

Quilt #9433 - North Dakota Sunset by Smitty Price

Quilt #9537 - Horse 1 by Clara Lawrence

Quilt #9535 - Red Bird by Jackie Bane

Quilt #9399 - Spinners Two  by Martha Wolfersberger

And, remember you can also help by letting others know about AAQI's monthly auction and quilts for sale too!

From all of us who volunteer for AAQI, thank you so much for sharing information about our organization! We all have our reasons for being involved with AAQI, but in almost every case, it boils down to having a loved one who has been or is afflicted with this horrible thief of a disease. The dollars we can raise for research are the key to finding a cure!

What a nice surprise to see my video here. Thank you for helping to spread the word about AAQI and the ways each of us can help.
