Fun Friday Giveaway and Special Announcements

This is a very special Fun Friday as it kicks off a weekend of celebrating the International Quilting Day.  I have oodles of insights of great quilting opportunities to share with you today:

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Quilting Gallery's Blog Hop Party.  They'll be fun and a variety of giveaways.  The list of participating blogs will be made available shortly after midnight on March 17th.  If you are visiting SewCalGal, from this blog hop, scroll down and you'll find my giveaway.  But, I hope you'll take time to see some other fun insights I'm sharing first.

I hope everyone hops on over to the Quilting Gallery's blog hop party this weekend.    Just click on this image to get all the details from the Quilting Gallery, but remember the list will be made available on the 17th.
Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

TheQuiltShow.com is celebrating the International Quilt Day, all weekend long.  Starting today, Friday, March 16th and thru Sunday, March 18th everyone can watch fmore than 100 episodes on the Quilt Show for free.  Plus, you can enter to win some great prizes, including a Bernina 550 sewing machine and many other sponsored prizes too.

While the Quilt Show has some great shows, those interested in free-motion quilting may want to check out Ann Fahl (#111), Cindy Needham (#222), John Flynn (#410), Joannie Zeier Pool (#509),  Sarah Vedeler (#904), and Linda Thielfoldt (#1106).

Barn Quilt Contest / Design A Quilt or Quilt Block

This is a great opportunity for those that use EQ6/EQ7 to design quilts!  AccuQuilt is holding their annual Barn Quilt Design Contest.  Enter your best quilt block design for a chance to win amazing prizes.  Deadline to enter is Monday, April 9th, 2012.  Winners will be announced at the AQS Quilt Show in Paducah, April 25-28.  No purchase necessary to win.  Unveiling of the winning quilt blocks will be held on June 22nd.

For more information click on this image:
AccuQuilt - Barn Quilt Design Contest - Enter Now!

Spring Cleaning
Efforts are underway for some sewing room spring cleanng (de-stashing).  Everyone is invited to participate.  You may  have items in your sewing room that you would like to sell or trade, or you may find items to buy from others.    This last phase of the Spring Cleaning will run thru April 15th, so check back as participants may join anytime as well as add items to their linked posts.

Red/White theme blog hop was a fun event in February with oodles of great tutorials, tips and giveaways. Unfortunately, SewCalGal forgot to announce the winner of the kit for mock needle turn hearts.    My apologies.  I'm trying hard to catch up and as of this week, I believe I've shipped all the prizes, for various contests & giveaways.  Whew.

The winner is Gill

Did I mention that this is Fun Friday and another giveaway?

Special thanks to Gwen R., of Orlando, Florida for being the Postage Angel for this weeks's giveaway. Gwen kindly made a generous donation to help with postage.

The prize this week is a collection of 50 charm squares, cut with an AccuQuilt, creating an assortment of Spring fabrics.  While you may want to add other charms to this collection, I think the winner could use some of these fabrics to make a cute spring table topper or wallhanging.  And, it would look really cute with the Lil' Twister ruler too!

To enter to win this charm pack, simply leave a comment on this post to let me know you are interested in winning.  I'll randomly select a winner and announce next Friday.

Lastly, congratulations to the winner of last weeks' Fun Friday Giveaway, sponsored by Hoffman Fabrics.  "My Sister Made Me Do It" is the winner and she will receive a nice Sushi Bundle of fabrics.
