Crafty Project Idea: Creating Bookmarks

While I love to quilt, another passion is reading.  I also enjoy cute bookmarks!  While I purchase pre-made bookmarks for gifts, as well as for my own use, I never seem to find them with wording or pictures that captures exactly what I'd like.  Thus, when I saw this fun project idea by MyMemories, I wanted to share it with you.  Plus, MyMemories will give you the templates for free, where you can modify to create bookmarks perfect for you too! I quickly adapted the free template to create a variety of layouts and wording. 

It was so much fun, I created even more bookmark designs - all within a few minutes.

Once I had  the designs completed, I was able to print them on photo paper, on my home printer.  You can easily trim them with scissors or a paper cutter.   You can use scrapbooking grommets, but I  stitched some ribbon on to these bookmarks.

These bookmarkes now help me find my favorite patterns in quilt magazines.

And, I'm looking forward to using one with some pleasure reading.

I think these would also make fun little gifts.  Can you imagine bringing good cheer by surprising a kid with a cheerful bookmark in their school books?  Or what about including them inside of a Birthday or Get Well card?  What other ideas do you have for creating and/or giving bookmarks?
