The Electric Quilt Company has launched a new site called My EQ Boutique.com, where anyone (even non-EQ users) can have fun with EQ designs, created by a variety of talented designers, using free software that allows you to print patterns at any size!
This tool is really targeted for users that do not have EQ software, but I also see that many EQ users will also enjoy this tool, and want to purchase patterns that are available on this site (and more patterns are being added all the time). For current EQ users, when you are looking at purchasing patterns from this boutique, do be sure to read the notes on each pattern before you purchase. Some designs are taken from EQ software that you may already have, yet many are patterns only available thru this boutique. And, if you have EQ7 you can add a link to your MyEQBoutique software to be able to pull these designs into your EQ software and incorporate it into your own customized designs.
Patterns at this site are designed by: Angie Padilla, Pearl P. Pereira, Judy Martin, Marsha McCloskey and many other designers too. I also like that the patterns are well organized and easy to find in categories of new designs, by designer, by type or skill level, theme, or complete list of products. Patterns also come with sewing instructions where applicable, and template, foundation, and rotary-cutting versions of the patterns all at your fingertips. Very easy, fun and totally inspiring.
You do need to create an account and log in to be able to download free patterns or purchase patterns. And, the first time you download a pattern you will also be given a link to download free software for a copy of the MyEQBoutique software that will allow you to print, organize all of your patterns from this boutique, get quilting insights and more.
The website and software is very easy to use. And amazing how easy it is to download new patterns and they automatically load into your MyEQBoutique software.
My personal recommendation, for new users, is to create an account at MyEQBoutique.com and visit the Free Downloads. Click on Fabulous Ohio Stars. Click Add to Cart and go thru the steps to order and download this free design. You will also be given a link to install the MyEQBoutique.com software, as well as a link to download this free pattern (download after you have the software installed on your computer.
I hope I've inspired you to go check out the new MyEQBoutique.com. They also have a good FAQ page.
