Trading Card Treasures
Trading cards are fun mixed-meda designs that are popular to trade at quilt shows and other events. They are frequently created using fabric, photos, scrapbook papers, embellishments and other supplies that help make the trading card be personalized and fun to keep, give as a gift, an invitation, thank you card, or trade them.
For those that are able to attend the upcoming IQF Long Beach Quilt Show you'll definitely want to check out the Trading Card wall that Pokey Bolton hosts at Make-It University.
I was very excited to see the new book "Trading Card Treasures: Sharing Cherished Photographs", by Carol M. Heppner and published by Martingale & Company. This is a great book to learn how to make photograph trading cards, that like a business card, measure 2 1/2" by 3 1/2".
The basics of making trading cards are covered with easy to read insights and inspirational pictures. Projects are provided that come with well written instructions, list of supplies, and beautiful photos. And there are 50+ projects included in this book.
Did you know that Artist trading cards have been around since the 16th century?
I hope you'll check out this book and be inspired to make some artist trading cards. These photograph trading cards are certainly fun treasures.

In fact they are mentioned in most of the classic literature. Visitors (characters) would almost always leave one in the parlor. I will definitely take a look at their booth.
I have always liked the look of ATC's. I will definitely take a look at this book. Thanks for the info..
