Rick Rack Class Announcement & Giveaway

The Patchwork Rose Zippered Bag Project
(You Can Never Have Too Many Handbags)

Thread Therapy for Sewers and handbag designer and author, Bari J. Ackerman, come together on July 22, 2011 to present the Patchwork Rose Zippered Bag online sewing class based on one of the most popular projects in Ms. Ackerman's newly released sewing pattern book, Inspired To Sew. According to Ms. Ackerman, the Patchwork Rose Zippered Bag project will cure sewers of their "zipper phobia."

"I decided to teach an online class because I love the idea that it can reach a worldwide audience. Anyone and everyone can participate," said Bari J. Ackerman

Rick Rack: Thread Therapy for Sewers offers simple sewing tips and projects for busy women who love to sew. The monthly affordable online sewing video tutorials are available exclusively on VirtueRadioNetwork.com.

On a personal note, I've heard from many sewing enthusiasts that avoid projects that require a zipper.  They really are not difficult to add to a project and Bari will certainly help those afraid of zippers how to confidently sew a zipper in.  For that alone, I'd say this class could be worth it for many, but when you look at all you get in this class, plus time with Bari J., this class is a deal.  Plus, you'll create your own really cute purse too!

Ok, now here is the deal on this sponsored giveaway.  One lucky follower of SewCalGal is going to win a spot in this class.  Followers simply need to leave a comment on this post and I'll randomly draw a winner and announce on July 13th.

Remember, your comment must have a way for me to easily contact you.  If you have never received an email reply to one of your comments, from me, you should check your settings.  My page labeled "giveaways" has screen shots and insights on how to change your settings, located about mid-way down the page.  If still not sure, or leaving a comment as an Anonymous person, be sure to include your email address in your comment.

I have found so many projects with zippers that I avoid because zippers scare me to death. I'd love to do this class to take that fear away. I'd probably become a zipper junky the way I've become a sock knitting junky with yarn! LOL Thanks for the opportunity, it's a very kewl giveaway! mborck@charter.net

Don't laugh, but purses in general scare me. Add a zipper?? NO WAY! But this one is so cute, and since you've assured us that it's painless, I'm in! Thank you! :)

This would be a fun and educational opportunity. And, I always need a zipper on my purses -- I've dumped the contents out of more than one unzippered bag! Thanks for the opportunity.

I have to admit that if I see a pattern with a zip I'll go to another one! Although a couple of years ago I did make a bag and added a zip. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought! Thanks for the chance.
