You will always be able to find a summary of the most current information on the activities for the annual Golden Quilter Awards by visiting the page on this blog labeled "Golden Quilter Awards".
Guidelines for submitting nominations are:
1) Only one submission per person will be accepted. If more than one submission is received, your nominations and entry to the giveaway will be voided.
2) Nominations can be submitted by leaving a comment on this post, or by sending an email to SewCalGal. For entries that are submitted via email, please be sure that the subject shows "Nominations to 2011 Golden Quilter Awards".
3) SewCalGal reserves the right to screen out nominations that are not acceptable. E.G. Micky Mouse does not qualify for any of the categories. Nominating a person or business that does not have a website may not be accepted, unless appropriate contact information is approved by the person for ultimate web posting on SewCalGal. E.G. Nominating Mary Smith as Best Quilt Teacher does not qualify as a valid entry if Mary doesn't have a website, or want her contact info to be published on SewCalGAl for others to contact her.
4) Nominations received after March 15th will not be considered.
As SewCalGal is hosting this event, she is unable to nominate or vote!
This post will be updated daily to reflect nominations. Once a person or business has been nominated for the 2011 Golden Quilter Awards, it really doesn't make a difference if they are nominated again, but it will make a difference when voting starts on March 19th. A new post will be released on March 19th, showing the nominees and voters can submit votes at that time, for ultimate winners to be announced early April.
For those that can provide websites for nominees, it is appreciated, but not required. SewCalGal will ultimately search to find valid websites to link to all nominees, but help is always appreciated.
The giveaway for the 2011 Golden Quilter Awards will be announced late March, but by submitting a valid nomination on this post you receive an entry in upcoming giveaway.
A winner of the 2010 Golden Quilter Awards can still be nominated for the 2011 Golden Quilter Awards!
SewCalGal will not be able to reply to nomination comments, due to the behind the scenes work that is required to coordinate this activity. But if you have a valid question, that you do not find answered on the main page for this event, please email me.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors, to the PR Angels that have taken time to help with PR for this event, and to all of you that take time to nominate those quilters that you view are deserving to be nominated for the 2011 Golden Quilter Awards! Ultimate, this is all about the quilters that deserve recognition for all they have done to make our world of quilting so wonderful. And, SewCalGal couldn't host the Golden Quilter Awards without your help!

Ricky has shown that quilting is open to all people. He has developed patterns, techniques and designed fabric. He has written books, made DVDs and has a quilting show. As a teacher his classes are normally sold out. And (my favorite) he has shown that quilting is NOT just for ladies only.
I am sure I left out some things.
I'd like to nominate Sawmill Creek Cottages as the best quilting retreat. The accomodations are comfortable and the sewing space is excellent. Roxanne and Audrey are friendly hostesses who go the extra mile for their guests. The food is exceptional and I go home stuffed after a busy quilting weekend.
