Like many of us, Marie Osmond learned to sew from her mother, at an early age. You are probably aware that she grew up as a member of a large showbiz family, but many of us tend to overlook her talents and interest in the world of sewing, quilting, and crafting.
Marie Osmond's heartfelt Giving, sew and quilt for family & friends, was published by Martingale & Company, Home of That Patchwork Place. This hardback book, with spiral binding, is filled with Marie's personal insights along with several childhood photos, and packed full of fun projects that make for excellent gifts, as well as fun projects for your home.
For many, her reference to "Growing up in a family of singers, our home was always filled with music. However, one of the most conforting sounds that defined my childhood was the hum of the sewing machine." is also something many of us can appreciate. While I didn't grow up in a family of singers (but my eldest sister has a spectacular voice), I can certainly understand the comfort Marie found with the hum of a sewing machine.
This book is the first how-to book that Marie has ever written. It contains step by step instructions for 20+ projects, including her “Paper Roses” quilt, baby blankets, aprons, children's dresses and more.
I found this book to be a fun book that I consider a must for any fan of Marie Osmond, and a very helpful book for anyone looking for easy projects that make for great gifts. I also found the instructions to be easy to follow and have great visuals.
I also understand that the first printing of this book was for only 35,000 copies. Thus, I also suspect this book will very popular with sewing and quilting enthusiasts, and ultimately end up being a collector's item. Marie's previous two books, "Behind the Smile" (Warner Books, 2001) and "Might As Well Laugh About It Now" (Penguin Group, 2009), were both New York Times best sellers. I also think this book would make a great gift for any young person whom you want to inspire to sew and/or quilt.
I hope you'll check out this book at your local quilt store, or go online.

I was thinking of getting this as I am such a fan of hers too. And she does quilt I understand. You have a very nice blog, quite refreshing. Very inviting. Thank you!
Might have ti check this one out...love the colors on the front!
Thanks for this info...growing up as a youth, Donny was my main delight....and most of my friends as well.
She seems like such a sweetheart. I have some of her jewelry. Just might grab out this book. She has branched out into several creative businesses, and I must say her personality is what will encourage me to support her. (As opposed to another household name in food & crafts who I used to love & now just bugs me.)
Thanks so much for featuring Marie's latest book ! We can't wait to see this book, as Marie is so very talented at all of her ventures.
Best wishes from Marina and Daryl at Quilt Inspiration
I just love her fabrics!
