In the North County area of San Diego County you can visit Quilter’s Paradise.
Some view they have found Quilter’s Paradise when they visit a major quilt show, attend a great quilt class, or find a great store full of wonderful items that you can’t live without. But for me, Quilter’s Paradise is in Escondido, California. It is a wonderful shop that offers it all and stimulates the senses.
They have a very large selection of beautiful quilts on display, which frequently change, so I always feel like I’m visiting a new quilt show! They always have a great selection of classes, for beginners to advanced quilters, as well as classes that would interest non-quilters (e.g. smocking, purse making, jacket making, etc.). They have a large selection of fabrics, one of the best in Southern California, if not the best. Their selection of fabrics also includes the largest collection of batiks I’ve ever seen in one place. This combined with a great selection of books, magazines, patterns, fat quarters, and various supplies all get me very excited.
I must confess that every new gadget I’ve purchased, in the last few years, I was introduced to those items at this store (before I saw them at any quilt show).
Can it get any better? Well, another great point about Quilter’s Paradise is that they also teach long arm quilting and you can rent use of their long arm machine! And they have two of the nicest classrooms I’ve ever taken a quilting class in.
Are you wondering how they can do all of this in one store? Well, Quilter’s Paradise has 9,000+ square feet. And the owners of Quilter’s Paradise, Sue Mezera and Mark Tiedeman have a great vision that made Quilter’s Paradise what it is today. The two are a great team and compliment each other’s talents and business skills. In addition, they have a wonderful staff that is all very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly! After all, they enjoy working in Quilter’s Paradise as much as quilter’s enjoy visiting Quilter’s Paradise.
