Remembering September 11th

Today I join the world in remembering those whose lives were taken on September 11th, 2001.   Let us never forget, always realize it is ok to grieve, to continue to express appreciation to those that were heroes that day,  and to pledge that we will continue to live with honor, integrity, and with hope to honor their memory.

I quilt today, while I hold the memories of that day heavily in my heart.  To inspire me, I admired photos of many patriotic quilts, found on the internet, and wanted to share them with you.

  1. Yes, I have been watching all of the coverage too. I remember that day. My oldest son lived in New York and I had just been to visit him three weeks before. I had seen the twin towers. I felt lucky that I knew where he lived and worked and that I knew he was safe even though I could not reach him.

  5. A very thoughtful and touching post. I was surprised, humbled, and honored that you included the simple star blocks from my photobucket. I hope those blocks are now part of several quilts and comforting a serviceperson. Roxann
