When the National Quilting Association declared the third Saturday of March, to be "National Quilting Day" back in 1991, little did they know that it would grow so rapidly in popularity around the globe that many now view it as "International Quilting Day,"instead
But I began to wonder why don't we have an International Quilt Day and would it be possible for us to create a "viral" effort to make it happen. So this post is a Challenge to establish an International Quilt Day in 2012 and see how many countries we can get on board.
Before I can propose a date, I want to find out which countries currently recognize any form of a National or International Quilt day and, if so, what date do they celebrate?
- Ireland: June 19th according to Arnold's Hotel & Riding Stables who shares that this effort was organized by Pauline Openner of the local Patchwork and Quilters Guild.

It also appears that Google/Blogger has some known problems with leaving comments. Symptoms are kickbacks. I'm investigating and you may also want to investigate the google forum and other sources. So far, this source has info that I'm testing to see if it will resolve the issue: http://www.tech.spoilertv.com/2012/05/troubleshooting-comments-for-blogger.html
