Eleanor Burns has taught so many quilters and given from her heart, to help make our world of quilting so wonderful. El is also a past 2011 and 2010 Golden Quilter Award Winner! As such, SewCalGal is delighted that Eleanor is going to be inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame this year.

So nice to hear that Eleanor Burns is being honoured in this way. I have countless patterns and spent many hours glued to her television shows in the early days of learning. She certainly made it fun. Thanks for letting us share in this celebration.

ReplyDeleteGood choice. Congratulations Eleanor. She was one of the first quilters that I saw on TV and the show was so fun. To me she will always be remembered for throwing the scraps and left over cuttings over her shoulder to the floor. I always wondered who cleaned up after her!

ReplyDeleteEleanor's sister came to my Adult Education Class a few weeks ago to practice the talk she is going to be starting to do on the road soon - was so refreshing to see and hear about the new ways of doing the patterns. Eleanor has done a lot to encourage quilting!
