Colonial Needle Blog Hop & Giveaway

Today, SewCalGal gets to participate in a fun blog hop hosted by Jacque (Lilypad Quilting) and sponsored by  Colonial Needle. And, I'm happy to be able to share insights on a few of their products that I have had a chance to check out.

bloghopbadgeC

The Colonial Needle is the sole distributor of English needles in the US.  They offer a broad selection of high quality needles, and other sewing notions, which are available in various quilt shops, sewing centers, catalog companies and through their online store.

They have a very handy horseshoe shaped magnet.  It is lightweight, portable and quite powerful.  This seems like a great magnet to take with you to sew-cials, as well as use in your sewing room.  Can you guess how many pins it picked up ?

They have a handy seam ripper that is quite sharp, with an excellent point.  It too is very portable.  I used it to do a repair on a heavyweight tote with mesh handles and it did an excellent job removing those threads, where I'll do a quick repair to fix this tote.  I am particularly fond of the size of this seam ripper (~3 1/2" secured in the case and ~ 4 1/2" with the case attached as a handle, when in  use).

Colonia Needles also  offers a large selection of needles (not all shown here).  They have the traditional package needles, as well as a number of needle types in a very handy "Pebbles" container.

The Pebbles Needles are available in a variety of needle types (Household, Beading, Chenille, Darning, Embroidery, Quilting, Sharps and Tapestry needles).  This needle case is truly one of the best I've ever seen.  Love it!

Their lightweight, yet durable, measuring tape is also an excellent tool to take to retreats, classes, sew-cials, as well as to have in your sewing room.  This little gadget is so handy you'll want to take it every place.

I hope you will visit all of the participating blogs in this Colonial Needle Blog hop this week. Each participating blog will be sharing insights about various products available at Colonial Needle, as well as hosting a giveaway.  Here is the lineup:
Sunday, April 15 – Snoodles at Lilypadquilting
Monday, April 16 –SewCalGal  {where you are at today}
Tuesday, April 17 – Gene Black and Alabama Artist and Quilter
Wednesday, April 18 –HillbillyHandiworks
Thursday, April 19 – SewBittersweet Designs
Friday, April 20 – It’s So Kiki
Saturday, April 21 – Love Affair with my Brother
Sunday, April 22 – Catpatches

Did I mention a giveaway?  Five lucky winners will be receiving a bundle of products from Colonial Needle (e.g. Needle, magnet, measuring tape, seam ripper etc).  To clarify, this picture is not an exact representation of what is in each bundle, but is a general image showing the types of products to be included in the five bundles.

Are you interested in winning a bundle of products from Colonial Needle?  Simply leave a comment on this post, with your best guess as to how many pins the magnet picked up.  I will randomly draw a winner, from those that correctly guesses the number of pins picked up (e.g. this is necessarily the max # this magnet can pick up, but the number of pins I had on my sewing table).  Winners will be announced on Friday, April 20th.

No-reply/anonymous entries (e.g. entries where your settings do not allow me to contact you) will not be eligible to win.  If you are not certain, embed your email address in your message.
