New Books From Martingale And A Giveaway

SewCalGal loves quilting, sewing and embroidery books.  Even better when I can find new books at a great deal.  The Insider Book Club with Martingale really is a great club to belong to as you get 35% off EVERY order.  Plus, it is only $14.99 to join and when you join you get a free $40 gift certificate to spend at the Martingale website.  Needless to say, the book club with Martingale is a great value and SewCalGal gives it a great recommendation. You can find more info about the Insider Book Club, as shared in a recent post on the Stitch This blog.

Today I'm excited to share insights with you about some very creative quilting books at Martingale, as well as a giveaway. Martingale continually publishes amazing quilting books, which consistently have well written instructions that are easy to follow and contain great visuals, making them perfect for quilters of all levels.

25 Patchwork Quilt Blocks - Volume 2, by Katy Jones has fun blocks that can be used to create table toppers, wallhangings and quilts for any design that uses 6 1/2" block.  Plus, this book comes with four projects.

My Enchanted Garden: Applique' Quilts in Cotton and Wool, by Gretchen Gibbons is an exceptional new quilting book packed full of beautiful designs, blocks, techniques and tips.  SewCalGal anticipates we'll see many award winning quilts, at future quilt shows, made with designs from this book, or inspired by this book.

Uncommonly Corduroy: Quilt Patterns, Bag Patterns, and More, by Stephanie Dunphy has a very innovative approach to creating projects with corduroy.  There are 17 projects in this book, with well written instructions, making this book an exceptional value.  Projects are included for skill levels from beginner to experienced, as well as tastes for traditional to modern.

501 Quilting Motifs - Designs for Hand or Machine Quilting from the Editors of Quiltmaker Magazine - (Softcover)
This is an excellent resource for any quilter interested in free-motion quilting.  A "must have" for any serious quilter interested in free-motion quilting.  The motifs are also appropriate for those doing FMQ on a domestic machine or long arm machine.

Did I Mention A Giveaway?

SewCalGal appreciates Martingale for sponsoring this giveaway for followers of SewCalGal, where SewCalGal can honestly voice an opinion when writing a review of these books.

To enter this giveaway, to win one of the four books shared above,  blog followers can simply complete the rafflecopter form below to enter.  Not a blog follower?  Add your email address in the box on the right column labeled "Follow via email". Winners will be randomly selected and announced on this post on  Saturday, March lst.

SewCalGal will be shipping prizes directly to winners. Thank you to postage angels, and supporters of SewCalGal that sign up for Craftsy classes or purchase items on Amazon via an affiliate program for SewCalGal. What funds are given back to SewCalGal are used to "supplement" postage expenses.  And, SewCalGal is able to open up this giveaway to International followers with the understanding that winners will be randomly selected and a maximum of one winner with an non-US address will be able to win a prize in this giveaway.  Thanks to everyone for understanding postage costs are excessive.  If I had it my way every giveaway would be open to followers world-wide.

  8. These books look really interesting. They are all useful but so different. I would love any one of them.
And no, I have not won a giveaway from your blog before. In corporate contests that I've won before, some specify a period of time between wins, some don't.

  16. I do love that they offer ebooks so you can get your book right away and be able to start a new project. It is also a great space saver since the books are on the computer, not cluttering up our sewing rooms, means more room for fabrics, lol.

  17. I think I have won. I've been rather lucky...hope it holds up...:)

  18. I have won giveaways several times during your blog events. I'm not sure what I think about making giveaways fair to all. There was a time when I never seemed to win anything. My chances improved when I began to enter more giveaways because I was following more blogs. Some sites state that giveaways are open to those who have not won anything in 90 days or so, and I think that's fine. It opens them up but doesn't close the door completely. When I've had giveaways on my blog I always hope that people who visit regularly will win, but that isn't what happens.

  38. I won a pattern from you once. I just bought a jelly roll to use for it, too!

Most give aways I have seen have a disclaimer that you can't have won anything from them in the past 90 days, which I think is quite fair.

  65. I have not won one of your giveaways but have won from other blogs I follow so don't ever feel bad when I don't win a giveaway. As far as I can remember I have never won more than once at any blog so I think the random system is pretty fair.
