Plus, it is only $14.99 to join and when you join you get a free $40 gift certificate to spend at the Martingale website. Needless to say, the book club with Martingale is a great value and SewCalGal gives it a great recommendation. You can find more info about the Insider Book Club, as shared in a recent post on the Stitch This blog.
Today I'm excited to share insights with you about some very creative quilting books at Martingale, as well as a giveaway. Martingale continually publishes amazing quilting books, which consistently have well written instructions that are easy to follow and contain great visuals, making them perfect for quilters of all levels.
25 Patchwork Quilt Blocks - Volume 2, by Katy Jones has fun blocks that can be used to create table toppers, wallhangings and quilts for any design that uses 6 1/2" block. Plus, this book comes with four projects.
My Enchanted Garden: Applique' Quilts in Cotton and Wool, by Gretchen Gibbons is an exceptional new quilting book packed full of beautiful designs, blocks, techniques and tips. SewCalGal anticipates we'll see many award winning quilts, at future quilt shows, made with designs from this book, or inspired by this book.
Uncommonly Corduroy: Quilt Patterns, Bag Patterns, and More, by Stephanie Dunphy has a very innovative approach to creating projects with corduroy. There are 17 projects in this book, with well written instructions, making this book an exceptional value. Projects are included for skill levels from beginner to experienced, as well as tastes for traditional to modern.
501 Quilting Motifs - Designs for Hand or Machine Quilting from the Editors of Quiltmaker Magazine - (Softcover)
This is an excellent resource for any quilter interested in free-motion quilting. A "must have" for any serious quilter interested in free-motion quilting. The motifs are also appropriate for those doing FMQ on a domestic machine or long arm machine.

ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway! Thank you for the opportunity!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I follow you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at the 'corderoy' book this morning - I find it quite interesting. Thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThese look like some great books..thanks for the review. I haven't won a giveaway at SewCalGal but still feel like a winner with all the great info you share!
ReplyDeleteI have not won a giveaway at SewCalGal. My goodness that Enchanted Garden book is so droolworthy! thanks for the opp. to win! kethry_24(at)yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThese books look really interesting. They are all useful but so different. I would love any one of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I have not won a giveaway from your blog before. In corporate contests that I've won before, some specify a period of time between wins, some don't.
I have the 501 Quilting Motif book and like it too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!
I always look forward to wonderful, NEW books! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if any of my wins have been through you. wins are very few and far between!
ReplyDeleteI have not won a giveaway through your site. Thanks for this one!
ReplyDeleteCount me in and thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteAnother insightful post - I always enjoy your book reviews. I have not won a previous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI havent won a giveaway. This one is lovely :P
ReplyDeleteI do love that they offer ebooks so you can get your book right away and be able to start a new project. It is also a great space saver since the books are on the computer, not cluttering up our sewing rooms, means more room for fabrics, lol.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I think I have won. I've been rather lucky...hope it holds up...:)
ReplyDeleteI have won giveaways several times during your blog events. I'm not sure what I think about making giveaways fair to all. There was a time when I never seemed to win anything. My chances improved when I began to enter more giveaways because I was following more blogs. Some sites state that giveaways are open to those who have not won anything in 90 days or so, and I think that's fine. It opens them up but doesn't close the door completely. When I've had giveaways on my blog I always hope that people who visit regularly will win, but that isn't what happens.
ReplyDeleteA lovely range of books - something for everybody (hopefully!)
ReplyDeleteThaks for this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Spain
I won one a long long time ago.
ReplyDeleteI love Martingale. Great books and most come with ebooks too.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe I have won, but I sure would like to :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful books! I need to grab me a copy of the 501 quilting motifs so I can try to get out of my loopy swirls and my stippling! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have. I've won some, but never from here that I remember.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I cannot remember if I ever have won anything from here or not. I need to keep track on paper in addition to the blog (I often announce what I've won on my blog).
ReplyDeleteHello,no I have not!
ReplyDeleteThank You so for this neat giveaway! Happy Stitching!

ReplyDeleteI've won prizes from SewCal Gal, but I don't remember if it was a blog, or only during the FMQ challenge in 2012.

ReplyDeleteWhen I first started following blogs in 2010 and realized how to do so via GFC, I did win a giveaway prize from Sew Cal Gal... it was soooo exciting! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI won a pattern from you once. I just bought a jelly roll to use for it, too!
ReplyDeleteMost give aways I have seen have a disclaimer that you can't have won anything from them in the past 90 days, which I think is quite fair.

ReplyDeleteBarb@Witsend
I have not won one of your giveaways. Some places restrict people from winning more than once every 2-3 months. This gives other people a better chance of winning.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reviews. I have won a giveaway from you last year. Thanks for the chance to win a book.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have won any of your give-aways. Thanks for the chance to win. Follower via bloglovin.
ReplyDeletesyvisser@gmail(dot)com
I've won one of your giveaways (crochet addict UK)
ReplyDeleteI have not won one of your giveaways but have won from other blogs I follow so don't ever feel bad when I don't win a giveaway. As far as I can remember I have never won more than once at any blog so I think the random system is pretty fair.
ReplyDeleteThe book club sounds like a great idea! I'll definitely check it out. I love quilting books!
ReplyDeleteOops. I commented before I saw the part about previous wins... Yes, I won one of your giveaways a couple of years ago. And I follow you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteI've never won a giveaway from your blog.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say I follow you via email.
ReplyDeleteNope, I have not won anything from you but it is a good question as I have had a couple of people win twice on my blog. It is all random so why not!?
ReplyDeleteI won one of the giveaways from you once. The only other time I've ever won a random blog giveaway was when my chances were one in five.
ReplyDeleteI've won on SewCalGal several years ago - also attended the holiday party in San Diego two years ago. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog this would be my first win
