Glimpses of Quilt Market #2 - Happy Halloween

Like many of us, I was curious as to "What is so Quiltacular about Quilt Market?"     What makes this to be an event that those in the business want to attend, year after year?  And, so many quilters, in general, would love to attend?

Possibly it is the inspirational booths?  Vendors at Quilt Market go all out at creating booths that draw buyers into their booth.  Quilts, Inc. the hosts of this event even gives out awards for a number of categories of best decorated booths.  Keeping this in mind, I thought I'd share a few insights with you today that also show off the spirit of Halloween at Quilt Market.

Alexander Henry Fabrics had a very spooktacular booth with a Dia de los Muertos display.  

Quilting Treasures introduced a new line of fabric:  75 Years of Wickedness, to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Wizard of Oz.  While the Wizard of Oz isn't about Halloween, it is a timeless spooky and heartwarming story. And, I'm confident this beautiful new line of fabric is going to inspire many to create beautiful quilts, bags, clothing items and more. And, of course, I wish I could snuggle up with a quilt made of this line of fabric on Halloween night (and throughout the year).  Beautiful new fabric line that should be appearing in your local fabric shops, or favorite online shops, in a few months.

The MOO-Ston Quilt Exhibit had many humorous cows, and a few cows perfect for Halloween too!  This exhibit is hosted by Studio Art Quilt Associates and has a collection of 30+ humorous quilts with a bovine theme inspired from the book "Out Of The Box With Easy Blocks", by Mary Lou Weidman and Mel B. McFarland.

While SewCalGal thinks all the booths at Quilt Market were fantastic,  some small and some large clearly many of the booths had more planning time involved.  Some booths were decorated with a Halloween theme, while others had their own theme, but even booths that found their own theme looked stunning.  Awards were also given out for best decorated booths, in a number of categories (no Awards for a Halloween theme). But the majority of the booths were inspirational and inviting.
