Free-Motion Quilting Is For More Than Just A Quilt

Birgit Schueller is an award winning longarm quilter and teacher, from Germany.  She recently posted photos of a quilted garment that SewCalGal found absolutely stunning.  And, she kindly agreed to let me share the photo of this garment with you today.

This gown is so lovely, that I'm hoping Birgit will wear it to the 2014 Golden Quilter Awards Ceremony next Spring.  I can't think of anything more appropriate to wear to such an event.  Ok, the Golden Quilter Awards Ceremony is a virtual party, so really any attire is appropriate. But oh how this outfit would be great for just about any special quilting event!

Birgit actually made this outfit for the vernissage of her artists group's exhibit titled BLAU - BLUE.  I'm sure she wore the most beautiful outfit at that event.

  3. What a beautiful idea! I'll have to try something like that next time I make a dress. Do you know if she used batting to get that effect?
