"Prairie-Point Pizzazz: Quilts with New Dimension", by Karen Sievert, published by Martingale & Company, home of That Patchwork Place, is a a fun quilting book that shows you how to create prairie points and to also use them in your quilts, way beyond their traditional use in borders and bindings!
You may be familiar with Karen's popular book " Better Together", which is an excellent quilting book based on beautiful quilts that use two different block designs. She has done another excellent job sharing designs for 10 unique projects, that range in size from table runner, to wallhanging, to full size quilts.
She does a great job walking introducing the reader to Prairie Points and how to use them to create Pizzazz in your quilts. She even talks about the "Zen of Prairie Points", fabric selection, marking, fusing, and many other tips & tricks.
All of the projects in this book are well written, with great visuals, material requirements and easy to follow instructions.
There are also quilting suggestions for many of the designs. Along with a great section on "Quiltmaking Basics" that provide insigns on fabric care, rotary cutting, piecing, pressing, binding and more. Thus, I view this is an excellent book for quilters of all skill levels, but definitely a perfect book for a new quilters too!
I hope you get a chance to check out this fun quilt book at your local quilt store, or online at Martingale & Company's online store.
