Do you have a Fisherman in your house?

When I spotted this cute quilt design, by Wendy Sheppard (Ivory Spring) I just knew it would be a perfect quilt for my niece and her family.

I also think this design would look great in a variety of other prints, including spring prints, batiks, etc.  The possibilities are endless. But for me, I'm definitel going to make it using Hautman Brothers‘ Rod and Reel fabric line, released by Quilting Treasures/VIP Exclusive.  You can also download a free copy of this "Rod and Reel" pattern, when you visit Wendy's delightful blog, where she has many free patterns, tutorials and great inspirations.

  4. This is so cute. I can see it with each fish made from bright batiks and a reef type fabric as the background.

  5. That's beautiful! I am making a quilt with 'fish' blocks, too - very different from this. I found the block from www.freshlypieced.blogspot.com

  7. Just finished "sandwiching" a quilt using that fabric (and other camping/sport fabrics). Lovely to work with. Haven't posted the entire quilt on my blog yet as it is a gift but will do so in a short while!-) I really love Wendy's pattern the moment I saw it!
